Dominique & John’s wedding was effortless and romantic. Dominique happened to be a guest at a past wedding I photographed and when she contacted me about photographing her day at The Chanler – we instantly clicked as we talked about her desire to have a non traditional wedding. Leaning more towards editorial photography that would tell their love story in a meaningful way.

In Dominique’s words “Effortless is one of the most complicated words to describe. I think to be truly effortless, someone or something must be elegant, yet casual, modern and still timeless, and easy soaked in mindfulness. I would describe our love as effortless and we intended for our wedding to be a reflection of that love.  Every detail from venue to menu, the placement of ceremony chairs in a semi-circle around us, to how the paper texture of the invitation would feel on the hands, was approached with thoughtfulness and the desire to excite those we love as they traveled to Newport, Rhode Island to participate in the celebration of our marriage.  

The Chanler at Cliff Walk provided a luxurious setting from a time long gone and details were approached with minimalism and freshness in mind. Flowers were replaced with candles in modern and eclectic holders and the table scape was kept clean and open.
